Apostles

hear the word "apostles" and immediately the mind thinks of the contradictory lists of 12 men in the gospels.

however, the word (apóstolos) had a much broader usage in the greek speaking world, pagan, jewish and christian.

for simplicity i'd copy a few definitions.. the word apóstolos occurs only in the lxx in 1 kings 14:6, where it is used in a non-technical sense to represent the heb.

i would like to start a thread on lies that the watchtower and their reps have told.

surely we all have one or two that truly sticks out in our memories, no matter how much we would like to forget.

my favorite wt lie: the reason they don't want to release the name of the "scholars" who worked on the new world translation is because they do not want to accept "glory and honor" from others.

Love should be based on trust and respect.

The love that the god of the bible is offering has conditions.

The tree in the garden of eden placed before Adam and eve, eat from it and die ,if you truly loved someone would you put a test before them .NO .

Through out the bible god gives laws and conditions to his chosen nation often described as his wife about how they should conduct themselves and even how they should dress a certain way to identify as different from the nations around them as a condition of remaining his chosen people, he actually describes himself as a jealous god ,and gives them numerous rules to live by so they would not lose his love for them.

In the jesus story he tells people that they should disown their parents brothers and sisters and even their children and follow him as a way to show that they love him. (Abusive and controlling people do that to people that they claim to love )

So by jesus/god putting conditions that you have to be born again and love him in a certain way is not love based upon trust and respect but on conditions that you have to follow.

It makes jesus/god a narcissist who demands that people love him or suffer the consequences, he uses physiological manipulation and coercive control over his victims and if you disagree or leave him you will suffer the consequences eg suffer in hell ,whatever that is.

There was no miracle worker called jesus,so no ransom needed to be paid to anyone.

The four gospels were written by unknown authors many decades after the so called events so not eyewitnes accounts that those events happened and that those words were ever uttered.

Is this the same jesus/god who killed millions of men women and children and animal's in the bible flood story because they took no note and just lived their lives.

Who allowed slavery?

Who allowed Israelite soldiers to abuse and rape captive young girls?

And will soon ride forth on a white horse with his armies and kill men women and children which will include those who have never heard about his forgiveness of sins and his grace because they have been born and raised in the wrong part of the world.

I read a review of that book, and he believes that the four gospels are eyewitnes accounts that's false, they were written by unknown authors many decades after the so called events so not eyewitnes accounts, so there is no evidence that a miracle worker called jesus ever existed.

Please do some independent research yourself into the evidence or lack of evidence into jesus and the bible in general.
